The Complete Vision
The 2028 Vivid Vision is our story of what recruitDC will become over the next three years. It's not a traditional mission statement or strategic plan; it’s a clear, energizing snapshot of where we’re going. It was created to align our volunteers, members, employers, sponsors, and supporters around a shared picture of success.
By setting our sights on 2028, we give ourselves the space to dream ambitiously and the time to make those dreams real. We understand that the recruiting world is evolving rapidly and sometimes unpredictably.
That’s why we are committed to creating a space where our members can learn, adapt, and lead through change together. This vision provides focus, fuels momentum, and invites everyone to play a part in building what’s next.
The market for talent acquisition is undergoing a profound transformation, and we are not immune to the waves of change reshaping our industry. In 2028, recruitDC will be a trusted, resilient, and collaborative community that will help us adapt and thrive through this evolution.
Culture
At recruitDC, we’ve cultivated a community where respect, grace, accountability, and generosity are central to everything we do. We're a volunteer-run organization, and we hold each other accountable while recognizing the realities of busy lives. Life happens, work, family, transitions, and we support each other through it all.
We value progress over perfection and kindness over ego. We assess volunteers based on their experience and alignment with our mission and values, and provide them with opportunities to lead initiatives, speak at events, and shape the future of recruiting. We expect our leaders, members, and partners to show humility, respect, and professionalism. We ensure that new volunteers feel welcomed and prepared, while long-time contributors feel recognized and appreciated. At every event, post, and project, there is a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose.

We recognize that talent acquisition is changing faster than ever. With the rise of new technologies and changing workforce expectations, it can be overwhelming to stay informed. At recruitDC, you don’t have to do it alone. We offer monthly virtual sessions, curated online content, and live events covering the art and science of talent acquisition. From frontline recruiters to senior leaders, everyone finds something valuable in our learning library.
We believe every recruiter and recruiting leader has a story to tell, and we’re committed to lifting those voices. Members regularly share case studies, lessons learned, and real-world wins (and mistakes!) so others can grow from them. Whether through a panel, a blog, or a community post, we celebrate peer-driven learning.
We’ve expanded into specialized learning tracks for recruiting operations, enablement, and employment branding, ensuring everyone in the TA ecosystem can access relevant, high-impact resources. This commitment to continuous learning is how we keep our community sharp, current, and inspired.
We also support and empower our members to grow into leadership roles.
