In these challenging times, staying connected with the industry and keeping skills sharp is more important than ever. This scholarship recognizes the difficulties many professionals face, especially those who recently experienced layoffs. It is established in honor of Derek, a cherished member of our recruiting community who passed away in 2021.

Derek Zeller, was a talented sourcer and writer who had a profound impact on the recruitDC community. Derek was a caring and genuine person who dedicated himself to helping others in the recruiting and sourcing community. He was also a mentor and friend to many.
He was able to infuse humanity into his work while remaining candid and supportive. We are all thankful for Derek's friendship, mentorship, and unwavering support. We’d like to honor his legacy by embodying the same human-centered approach.
